It was a very interesting weekend for The Beacons. They lost Friday night at The Yet to a good Keene State team.
Then Saturday there was a scheduled double header against Western Connecticut College. To say the wheels fell off the bus would not be an exageration. WCC planned to leave Danbury at 6:30 for the double-header. Funny thing happened. The bus company forgot to have a bus at the pick up point. Then a bus was delivered to the team at 9. Frankly it was a piece of junk. The air conditioning and toilets did not work. While travelling along the MassPike the bus broke down completely. The bus company did not have a bus available to take the team the rest of the trip to Waltham. Fortunately, UMB sent their team bus to pick up the team. Unfortunately the Noon start needed to be pushed off to about 4 PM. The result was a pair of wins by the Beacons.
Then today, bad news. A second loss to a strong Keene State team, 12-5.
Next game 3 PM Tuesday at Curry College.
